Alexander-Arnold was substituted in the fifth minute

The full-back's first Champions League game for Los Blancos finished abruptly as he suffered an injury only minutes into the encounter against the French side

Alexander-Arnold, who moved to Los Blancos from his former club after last term, was selected to feature at defender ahead of his teammate

But, Alexander-Arnold pulled up with what looked to be a muscle problem while running for the ball

He immediately dropped and gestured to the coaching staff before being replaced by his Spanish counterpart in the fifth minute

Depending on the extent of the injury, the Three Lions player could be unavailable for a return to his former home, with Los Blancos due to face the Reds in the UCL on November 4

It was an additional blow for him, who had started in just two of Real Madrid's initial Spanish league fixtures this season and was left out from the national team for last month's World Cup fixtures
