Although traditional pre-arranged vacations are still the top option, research shows that about one-fifth of 25- to 34-year-olds use smart assistants like AI chatbots for holiday suggestions.
On the other hand, fewer than a small fraction of seniors cite AI as a source for vacation planning.

Data presented at a latest tourism conference showed that the percentage of UK residents taking a trip in the past year has nearly returned to pre-Covid levels.

An ever higher percentage of people cited a holiday as the top discretionary spend, ranking above recreation, devices, and other entertainment, even during challenging financial periods.
Artificial Intelligence Usage Increases
A poll done in recent months revealed that twice as many individuals are employing AI for travel arrangements than last year.
Now, a small but growing share of those surveyed reported they rely on AI for ideas, up from four percent in the previous year.

Calls for Regulation in Travel Industry
The problems with overtourism in Spanish destinations and other places were linked to "illegal rentals" rather than big operators.
Experts highlighted calls for governments to take action against cases where property managers lack a tourism licence, safety checks, or correct financial reporting.
If owners are identified to not have the right certificates and financial records, they face penalties. Failure to comply leads to jail time. The entire illegal rentals will be eliminated rapidly.
The message was straightforward: Owners should take individual responsibility, become licensed, and comply with regulations.
